Earlier yesterday, the first look of Varun Dhawan as Zafar in Kalank, the multi-starrer period drama was revealed. After the Abhishek Varman directorial, the actor is also set to appear in Remo D’ Souza’s Street Dancer opposite Shraddha Kapoor. Well now, the Sui Dhaaga actor has confirmed that the official remake of the 1995 hit comedy Coolie No. 1 that had originally starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor is very much happening.
The actor confirmed the news exclusively to BBC while engaging in a candid conversation about his forthcoming projects. Varun was heard saying, “As I said it, I was like “should I say it?” But I think it’s come out so many places that yeah…”
The actor also confirmed that the remake would also be helmed by David Dhawan himself. On being asked who is going to be the leading lady in the movie, Alia Bhatt or Sara Ali Khan, the 31-year-old actor quipped, “I can’t do every film with Alia.”
“That you will know soon, I don’t want to say that. But Alia and me are not working. We’ll do something I think after…we’ll give a little break to people because I think for everyone it’s like “oh they are again back together” They feel we are like “building friends. They come down and play together every time”,” he further told the network.
