Sushma Swaraj, we will miss you Bollywood says farewell to beloved leader

Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away on the night of August 6, leaving the nation shocked and saddened. The veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader breathed her last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi, following a cardiac arrest. She was 67 years old.

Tributes poured in for Sushma Swaraj from several Bollywood celebrities, who were devastated by the tragic news.

However, she did not contest the recently-concluded Lok Sabha 2019 elections and opted out of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new cabinet, due to health reasons.

Just hours before she passed away, Sushma Swaraj thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed her happiness at the passing of the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, which divided the state into two Union Territories – Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh. “Thank you Prime Minister. Thank you very much. I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime,” she tweeted.
