Prabhas was asked if he will give tough competition to Khans in Bollywood

With the stupendous success of the Baahubali films, Prabhas became a household name across the country. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which released in 2017, reigned supreme at the box office in India, beating Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar, Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees.

Two years after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Prabhas is all set to return to the big screen with Sujeeth’s action-thriller Saaho. At the trailer launch of Saaho, the actor was asked by a reporter if he was ready to “give a tough competition to the Khans”.

Prabhas had an epic response to the question. “Thank you, ma’am. Can I leave?” he said, leaving everyone in splits.

At the event, Prabhas revealed that he did not want to give two years of his life to Saaho but the action sequences demanded it. “Actually, I did not want to give two years for this film because I already gave four years for Baahubali,” he said.

“But for the action sequences, we need a lot of preparation. For some action scenes, like the Abu Dhabi chase, we were working for almost a year. A lot of preparation and rehearsals are required. I need to support the director and the producers who spent too much,” he added.

According to reports, the makers of Saaho spent a staggering Rs 90 crore just on filming the action sequences in Abu Dhabi. Hollywood stunt choreographer Kenny Bates has been roped in for the film.

Directed by Sujeeth, Saaho is the story of an undercover police officer, who must apprehend the people responsible for a massive Rs 2000-crore robbery in Mumbai. For the mission, he and crime branch officer Amritha Nair (Shraddha Kapoor) head to Waaji city, ruled by powerful gangsters including Jackie Shroff, Mahesh Manjrekar, Mandira Bedi, Chunky Panday and Arun Vijay.
