Anurag Kashyap to act in Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s film Bole Chudiyan

Anurag Kashyap and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s first film together was Shool in 1999. While the actor had a brief appearance in the National Award-winning film, Anurag had written the dialogue. The filmmaker went on to cast Nawaz for another cameo in his 2007 film, Black Friday, and as a wedding band singer for the song “Emosanal Attyachar” in Dev D two years later before the duo reunited for Gangs Of Wasseypur, a gangster drama spanning two films. The 2012 project saw Nawaz in a lead role. After playing lead again in Raman Raghav 2.0, Nawaz was back for another Anurag directorial, Mukkabaaz, to feature in the song “Mushkil Hai Apna Meil Priye”.

Filmmaker will be making an appearance in Nawazstarrer Bole Chudiyan, which marks the directorial debut of the actor’s brother, Shamas Siddiqui. “Yes, I am doing the film but that’s all I know for now. I have agreed to do the film as this is the first time Nawaz has asked me to do anything and I trust him,” confirms Anurag, who recently started shooting for his next directorial in Mumbai, which marks the Hindi debut of Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew and also features Mirzya debutante Saiyami Kher.

Anurag is yet to finalise his shooting dates for the film, which was in the news recently after a fallout between its former lead actress, Mouni Roy, and producer Rajesh Bhatia. The hunt for the leading lady is presently on. While speaking to Mirror earlier (December 2017), Anurag had revealed that Nawaz flew to Bareilly for a day to shoot the Mukkabaaz song on his request. “Nawaz will do anything for me, I love him,” the director had said.

Incidentally, Gangs Of Wasseypur completed seven years on Saturday and Anurag marked the day by noting, “Seven years back is exactly when my life got ruined. Since then all everyone wants me to do is the same thing over and over again. Whereas I have only been unsuccessfully trying to get away from that expectation. Anyways hope that ‘saadhe saati’ is over by the end of 2019.”
