Ranveer Singh has been all over the news for the last couple of days, courtesy the blockbuster success of his latest release Simmba and the newly-released trailer of his upcoming film Gully Boy. And now, the quirky actor is making headlines for another one of his forthcoming films – Kabir Khan’s ’83, which is based on India’s 1983 World Cup win against West Indies under the captainship of Kapil Dev.
Ranveer, who will be playing the former captain in the film, has started preparing for his role. He is currently being trained by Balwinder Singh Sandhu, who was part of the squad that lifted the coveted trophy almost 36 years ago. However, if a report on Bollywood Life is to be believed, the actor will also train with Kapil Dev himself.
A source in the report has been quoted as saying, “Ranveer’s cricket coaching will be with Balwinder Singh Sandhu – also a key member of the 1983 World Cup winning squad. While Sandhu and Ranveer will work rigorously to perfect the game, Ranveer will also train with the legend Kapil Dev. Kapil will coach him to perfect his iconic bowling action and Ranveer will work with him to pick up all his mannerisms on and off the field.”
